JAN BRENNER TESTIMONY & SALVATION MESSAGE

I was raised in a military family where the only time I ever heard the name of Jesus Christ was as part of a long litany of loud, very harsh, swear words. Basically, my home life was okay, mostly loving, but at times there was tremendous physical violence due to my father’s life-long addiction to alcohol. As a teenager I used to go to church occasionally with a friend but nothing ever really stuck. I remember one time I had to sneak out of my house to attend an Easter Sunday service at a very beautiful church up on a hill. I walked there with a friend of mine and found the entire experience very comforting but did not accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior until many years later.

I went to New York to work as an entertainer right after graduating from high school and began a very successful career in show business. I was able to travel the world singing and dancing, leading a very glamorous exterior life, while often feeling lonely, sad and hopeless inside.

At age twenty-two I began an exploration of Buddhism, new age philosophy, Science of the Mind, the occult and eventually the Unity faith. Nothing really satisfied my inner longing for peace. Nothing filled the God shaped hole in my heart. For many years I ravaged my body with a heavy sex, drugs and rock and roll lifestyle just trying to deaden the gnawing pain deep down inside.

It was not until I started dating my husband to be, Steve Ozark, that I began attending a bible based Christian church. He basically was not interested in dating a nonbeliever so I seriously started taking a look at developing a relationship with God. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord in 1990 at Faith Fellowship Church in Honolulu and began reading the Bible, listening to teaching tapes, attending a Bible study and going to church every time the doors were open. In 1994, my husband and I began attending Word Of Life Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Art Sepulveda as a result of seeing Pastor Art on his daily television show. The Holy Spirit let us know the very first time we walked through the doors at WOLCC that we had found our “church family”.

Jesus has healed me of a breast tumor, delivered me from severe alcohol and cocaine addictions, helped me to have true self-esteem in Him and, at one point, saved my marriage from destruction. He is the reason I sing and my CD “Trust Him” is actually His CD. He wrote the songs, produced the music and created the marketing plan! He is my best friend and every day I try to focus on “more of Him and less of me”. I know that the best is yet to come for me as long as I love people and continue to serve Jesus in any way that I can.

I am a blessed woman today and I give all the praise and all the glory to God for the gift of Jesus in my life. Jesus Christ is the greatest thing that ever happened to me and if you would like to receive Jesus Christ too, as your Lord and Savior, just pray this simple prayer out loud:

Father God, I come before you in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I ask you to forgive me of all my sins. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. I know that I am now a new creation in Christ Jesus and I ask you to teach me how to live this new life in Christ. I thank you and praise you Father for your mercy and grace. Amen.

Congratulations! You are now in the “family” of God. It is important to find a good, bible teaching church and start attending so you can fellowship with other believers and get rooted and grounded in the Word of God. I am so happy for you. Please mail or email me and tell me all about yourself and your new life in Christ.

As my song says... your job from now on is “To Seek And To Save” others who are lost and hurting. Go knock them alive and God bless you!
